If you want to be healthy, you need to move more often or at least change postures throughout the day. In the US, standing desks have become increasingly popular - permanent desks that allow you to work both sitting and standing throughout the day. Today, we head to New York (USA), where Autonomous has unveiled an innovative SmartDesk 3 artificial intelligence table that allows you to adjust its height from 61 to 130 cm, with a built-in touch panel to remind you of the need change posture, drink water and have lunch, order a taxi and show the weather forecast.

Faced with sedentary lifestyle problems, many scientists around the world have begun to look for a solution that could solve them. Most of us work in offices, getting to them by public or private transportation. Literally leaving the house, we sit in a comfortable seat and go to work to sit there again on a chair or armchair to spend at least 8 hours there. Coming out of work, we again get into transport and go sitting. Our body is designed for movement, and we force it to be constantly in one position.

Studies on the use of permanent tables are still in the early stages, as their active use began relatively recently - just a few years ago. However, it is now safe to say that periodic changes in position have a beneficial effect on the body as a whole. Many experts agree that a good state of health requires at least once an hour to work out, change postures, and a daily half-hour walk will have more effect than a regular visit to the gym.

Autonomous is not new to smart furniture. About 40 experts are working on its creation: engineers, designers, programmers to make the jobs more user-friendly. This approach produces quite good results - it has gained wide popularity in the domestic US market in a short time and wants to conquer Europe. Earlier, we talked about SmartDesk 2 Home Edition - a motorized table for home use, the height of which is adjustable in the range from 74 to 122 cm. It has four preset positions, withstands up to 100 kg of weight, operates from the mains, and has a low noise and thickness tabletop 2.5 cm (more about it you can read on the link).

Today's novelty is interesting because in addition to motorization, it has a built-in touch panel, diagonal 7 inches, equipped with artificial intelligence. Labor productivity depends not only on our health and mood, but also on the number of distractions. The color display shows shortcuts with recommendations or reminders that you need to drink water, it is time for lunch, or it is time to change your posture. Also included in the device are an event calendar with event reminders, clock, weather forecasts, music playback, air temperature control, remote lighting on / off, food ordering from your favorite restaurant, and a taxi call.

The novelty interacts with smartphones and tablets that run on iOS and Android operating systems. In the future, the manufacturer wants to expand significantly the capabilities of the smart desk. You no longer need to go to the restaurant's website to order food. The application remembers your preferences according to frequent requests and offers to place an order. All you have to do is click the confirm button. At the end of the day, a smart desk can offer you a taxi call, remembering previous routes. With SmartDesk 3, you no longer have to spend time with routine occupations. Now you can concentrate on the job completely without distraction.

The tabletop of the novelty has dimensions of 76 * 135 * 2.5 cm (width * length * thickness). The material of its manufacture was MDF. The diagonal of the built-in touch display was 7 inches and its dimensions were 18 * 11 cm (height * width). It has a tilt of 25° to the outer edge of the table and is positioned on the left, so as not to distract you from solving everyday tasks. The touch interface supports ten-finger text input. An on-screen keyboard and a simple menu make it truly functional. The device is based on the operating system Autonomous 1.0. Supported protocols for connecting to external gadgets and smart home systems - Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Currently, the built-in interface language is English. It is planned to add French, German and Chinese in the future.

The height of the table is also adjusted depending on the priority position of the user. It ranges from 61 to 130 cm. The steel body can withstand loads up to 136 kg. The speed of movement is 5.8 cm per second. The noise level of the novelty is even lower than the previous version and is only 38 dB. Powered by SmartDesk 3 from the standard power supply - from 110 to 220 V. The weight of the table is 50 kg. The length of the power cord is 198 cm. The manufacturer also guarantees that the electronic parts of the table are completely protected from scratches and splashes of water from any direction.

The novelty raised 273% more money than it did had originally needed. Production started and the first deliveries were successful. The estimated retail price is $ 599. To date, desk sales have been halted due to software upgrades. It is not yet known whether the project will be rebuilt or fully reworked.
